August Events & Fall Sound Programs!
From Ann-Marie Boudreau
Dear Friends,
There was no July newsletter this summer as I have been away on holidays this
past month. I have come back refreshed and ready to dive into some fun August events
including a Sunday Afternoon Musical Soiree and a few chances to explore your
voice this summer at a Sonica and a great vocal workshop I’m teaching at TAC!
Beginning this September there are wonderful sound and vocal programs that I’ll
be facilitating including a Southampton Art School Vocal Weekend, a five module
Voice3 Vocal Program with my Voice3 colleagues Hazel Walker & Lisa Hartt, as
well as the Healing Power of Sound Module at the Transformational Arts College.
Sign up early for these programs to ensure a space is held for you!
Just in case you missed them this June, myself and three of my Soundwork
colleagues were interviewed on Bonnie Ross’ program, Divine Light Within Radio.
You can still hear these interviews on the blog site. Visit:
www.blogtalkradio.com/bonnieross to link up to the programs.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Exploring Your Singing Voice: A Vocal Workshop Evening at TAC!
Long before there were instruments, we expressed ourselves with our first
instrument, the human voice. Sometimes in youth we were not allowed to use our
voice shutting down this gift of creative expression. In this experiential
session, you will be encouraged to discover your natural singing voice in a
gentle, playful and creative manner. We will explore improvisational
vocalizing, vocables (made-up words that are sung) and melodic patterns.
Ann-Marie will play a variety of exotic musical instruments used in vocal
traditions from around the globe. Join her as she weaves together her wonderful
vocal and musical skills creating a magical workshop of vocal exploration. No
musical experience is required but don’t forget to bring your inner child.

A Southampton Art School Vocal Intensive Weekend PLUS Sound Journey Evening!
with Ann-Marie Boudreau & Lucie Brisson
Saturday: Full Day Session: “Journey Through Voice”
Did you know that our voice is as unique as our fingerprints, reflecting our
personal history and stories? The human voice has soul, heart and
consciousness because it reflects the spiritual resonance of the person making
the sound. Dive deeply into your journey of authentic expression in this
soulful vocal workshop. Tap into your unlimited creativity & playful inner
child as you explore the use of improvisational singing and vocables. Access
the primordial energy which will bring you into contact with your original
sonic language. From that place of mystery, your own personal soul sound will
emerge. Awaken to the enormous power and influence of your voice!
Sunday: Full Day Session: “Creating Intentional Sounding Circles”
Explore your voice in a playful and relaxed manner while learning how to create
intentional sounding circles. Everyone will have an opportunity to step into
the world of vocal improvisation and interact with a variety of user-friendly
world instruments. Bring your favourite drum or rattle. Participants will have
the opportunity to receive and offer sound during this session.
Saturday Evening: “Sound Journey” Open to the public
Join us for this intimate and personal ‘live surround-sound’ experience! With
the use of the Sitar and other wonderful World Instruments, Ann-Marie Boudreau
will create a 60-minute musical relaxation. What is a Sound Journey? Allowing
yourself to surrender into the nourishing sounds from acoustic world
instruments being played around and over you is the essence of a Sound Journey.
It will support and cradle as you move into a deepening meditative state. At
times melodic, sometimes dissonant, a soundscape is created utilizing an
intimate knowledge of the chakra system, shamanic traditions and the
vibrational nature of our bodies, to enhance and deepen the meditation
experience. *Bring along a yoga mat, blanket, pillow and water for your
comfort.

The Healing Power Of Sound:
A Transformational Arts College Program
The latest scientific research on Sound indicates that this vibrational art
helps to synchronize the hemispheres of the brain, induce relaxing brainwave
states, such as alpha, and produce the relaxation response: lower heart beat,
blood pressure and deeper breathing. Besides promoting wellness, the experience
of sound can be magical, mystical and creative connecting us deeply to our soul
and spirit. Sound, indeed, is a spiritual path. Explore, discover and
experience the wonderful affects of sound in this eight week program!
With Ann-Marie Boudreau, www.annmarieboudreau.com
Where: Transformational Arts College, www.transformationalarts.com Time: 7:00
