Breath & Sound Workshop

This one day workshop uses breath and sound to create a bridge between the conscious and unconscious minds accessing and connecting body, mind, spirit and emotions. This body oriented workshop will help to heal, release negative energy and stress, return you to balance and allow you to come home to yourself. The session is complemented by a live, evocative soundscape that supports and deepens the experience. A variety of acoustic instruments and vocals are used to help reflect and impel the breather’s experience.Together, breath and live sound offer a uniquely rich inner journey.
Where: Transformational Arts College, 3rd floor, 3300 Yonge Street, Toronto.

Through her company Conscious Journeys she leads women on inner and outer journeys to India focused on community service, cultural immersion and adventure. She is a masters level breath therapist certified from Integration Concepts. She enjoys working with both groups and individuals.

Starling Session in Hamilton

Experience the joy and the mystery of soundmaking and the transforming power of receiving sound. This is a collective sounding process, to listen, shadow and harmonize with the receiver as the primary important person in the room. The collective sounding needs to be balanced with the inner freedom to give the best of oneself to the process…to be free to give means, you have to be listening deeply within for that sacred urge, intuition, numinous. Awakening of Spring: A Sound Journey Experience
Hosted by Ann-Marie Boudreau

With the awakening of Spring were bringing in some lovely subtle metallic drums this month (the hang, Oscar & hapi drum) along with some delicious African rhythms and African instruments (the ngoni, tongue drums, balafone & kalimbas). Join us for this intimate and personal ‘live surround-sound’ experience – and come see what all these instruments are! Created as an evening of relaxation, meditation and visioning. With special guest Michael Franklin on flutes; Fusion Tempo: Kathleen Gillis & Debbie Ingham on percussion and soundwork colleagues Sheri Cohen and Lucie Brisson. There will be an offering of Reiki for those who would like it included during their sound experience. Doors open at 7:15pm, the Journey starts at 7:30pm sharp! Arrive early to set up your space. Note: doors are locked at 7:45pm so as not to interrupt those journeying. Where: Vivace Studios, 291A Jane Street, just south of Annette. Cost: $25.00. Please bring: a mat, blanket, pillow and bottle of water for your comfort. For those who have difficulty laying on the ground you are welcome to bring a lawn chair to recline in. Exploring Your Improvisational Voice
A Monthly Vocal Circle Gathering

Step into this intimate gathering of vocalists committed to expanding and developing their improvisational vocal skills. This playful and engaging circle engages participants through a variety of practices including the exploration of vocables, call & response and ostinato work. This monthly open circle will continue supporting vocalists step more deeply into their improvisational voice every third Thursday of each month through till June 2011.  Time: 7:00 to 9:00pm  Cost: $25 Place: 526 Runnymede Road (near Bloor West Village) Space is limited so you must resgister. Having had several requests to create a module around “Ritual”, Voice3 will be offering a final module May 11,18, 25 & June 8. This informative, introductory course will feed your curiosity and intuition in the art of preparing ceremony and ritual to create markers in your life and in the lives of others.  The above offerings are $150 each and will be held at Toronto Sound Source, 219 St Clair Street West, lower level.
