Archive for March, 2009April Sound Events – April 26th @ Trane Jazz Lounge!Yes, I’m back at Trane Jazz Studios performing with my wonderful musical friends again this month! Come join us for a playful & interactive evening with great music and dancing! Wednesday, April 1st Tuesday, April 14th Sunday, April 19th Friday, April 24th Saturday, April 25th Ann-Marie Boudreau will be spend the last portion of the day exploring improvisational and intentional sounding with the group. This will give participants an opportunity to explore their voices in a playful and comfortable manner along with learning about and using many different kinds of world instruments. At the end of the session the participants both provide and receive the medicine/sonic tonic of intentional soundmaking. Archive for March, 2009March Sound Events - Stillness Into MotionOn this bright sunny day in Toronto and with the melting of the snows you can almost feel the seeds buried beneath the earth striving to reach for the sunshine above them. Growth, new growth, is on it’s way to the surface. . . In keeping with the ‘budding energy’of spring, here are a host of wonderful activities that I’m involved with this month to help encourage just that – new growth! They range from East Indian vocal studies and Soundwork studies, a Sound Journey and Intuitive Soul Radio interview to a Humane Food Fundraiser and the Holistic Expo! Saturday, March 21st: A Sound Journey Experience “Stillness Into Motion” Hosted by Ann-Marie Boudreau Join us for this intimate and personal ‘live surround-sound’ experience! Mainly created as an evening of relaxation, we’ll be encouraging movement in honour of the spring buds which are slowly growing through the earth readying themselves to sprout above the surface soon! Doors open at 7:15pm, the Journey starts at 7:30pm sharp! Arrive early to set up your space. Note: doors are locked at 7:45pm so as not to interrupt those journeying. For 90 minutes allow yourself to be enfolded by deep healing sounds from acoustic world instruments being played around and over you. A sound journey can support you as you move into a deepening meditative state while reclining and relaxing. At times melodic, sometimes dissonant, the soundscape is created utilizing an intimate knowledge of the chakra system, shamanic traditions and the vibrational nature of our bodies to enhance and deepen the meditation experience.
